Product Development and Production

 

How do I start? 

First, we need information about your required production goals. Later we will need .Ai or .STL files of your designs to start production, plus your acceptance of our proforma invoice and your order deposit.

Can I visit your factory?

Yes. Please contact us to make an appointment and list your requirements and purpose. Please note that certain parts of production will not be accessible accessible to protect the intellectual property of our clients. 

Do you produce in Thailand? Do you sell in Thailand? 

Felicia Design is an Export Company and does not sell in Thailand. We are also 100% foreign owned. European management of expert Asian craftsman allows us to be competitive in costs, quality and production. However, if a client wants us to deliver locally we will be happy to do this and charge an additional 7% VAT, per the rules of the Thai Revenue Department.  

Should I contact Felicia Design to produce in Silver or Gold? 

We have more than 40 years’ experience with 925 Sterling Silver and its many treatments.   We also produce in 9k, 10k, 14k and 18k gold (yellow or white gold) as a luxury or value added product.  

What do you mean by communication?

We offer our clients two levels communication.  All clients receive a designated staff member who will update them on each step of the manufacturing process of their order and will be their direct contact to answer questions or assist with technical issues.  The second level of communication is management.  You will also be in contact with the owner of the company, who will be a key person in the development of your order before, during and after your production schedule, including delivery. 

Do you provide packaging?

The packaging we provide is suitable for export and transportation and is included at cost by Felicia Design. If the client would like to have packaging in line with their brand image, we can recommend reliable options, depending on requirements. 

 

Lead Time and Price

 

How do you price? 

Felicia Design quotes in US Dollars.  We accept production orders for a minimum value of USD 1,000.  The level of quality required will affect the production schedule and the price. 

What is your lead time? 

An average 6 to 8 weeks during the low season and 8 to 10 weeks during the high season.  We recommend you contact us well ahead to plan the season’s catalog and the delivery schedules required. 

What are the design charges?

We do not accept design work.  With your designs, our experienced model making artisans create wax models and molds.  Our product development process requires your .Ai or .STL file.  Charges for master and mold of most designs range from $200 to $300 USD per item or ring size.

What affects the price?

Prices vary due to fluctuations in the prices of silver, gold, stones or other materials.  Foreign exchange rates also affect prices.  Quotes and negotiated terms are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. 

 

Insurance and Shipment

 

What is your return policy?

All returns for credit or repair must be pre-approved prior to being shipped back to Felicia.  We require the client's proposed export documents. 

How do you ship?

We currently use FedEx.  However, the client may specify a preferred forwarder or courier service.  For this we will require details and an account number. 

Do you provide insurance?

We can provide insurance upon request.  The cost of insurance is approximately 1% of 110% of the combined costs of goods and freight.  If the client has their own forwarder or courier service, insurance is not applicable.  With this option, we can cooperate with the forwarder or the courier service that the client has chosen. 

What is the client responsible for?

The client is responsible for costs related to pick-up, domestic transportation, export documentation and clearance, international freight and its associated costs.  The client is also responsible for additional costs in connection with special requests involving marking, packaging and/or labeling to the specifications of the client. 

 

Questions from Designers and Brand Ambassadors

 

I have a design in mind but I don't know how to produce it.

We have been designing for brand names in jewelry for 25 years. We work with designers and consider technical manufacturing requirements and the brand’s image. We will meet you and offer production solutions that fit your brand or design requirements.  

How do you design?

We require at least a hand sketch or drawing. During the design process, our in-house product development team can render this drawing into an editable .AI or .STL file before it is approved for production. During this stage other materials, stones or brand requirements can be added and viewed in 3D or 2D versions. After approval, we will create a wax model, mold and cast as a preliminary sample. 

I'm a Brand and I want to start a collection.

We will need to discuss your requirements.  As a brand ourselves, we understand that your product must represent your image, align with your company objectives and support your overall vision for growth.  Whether you are a new brand or an existing brand wishing to enter the jewelry sector, we will work on designs with you, craft your products and effectively manage costs and production schedules to suit your goals. 

 

Questions from Wholesalers

 

Please send me your catalogue.

We are an OEM company and produce for Brands.  We do not have our own collections or catalogue of products. 

Can I purchase out-of-date or discontinued masters you made for other clients?

Our Intellectual Property regulations forbid us from selling client collections, even if discontinued or out-of-date.  Such sale can only be authorized by the client.  Any pricing plan or production requirements in connection with such sale will be discussed by all parties involved. 

Can I work with your client?

We can facilitate a meeting.  Felicia Design will not provide any information regarding its clients, so you must know our client prior to contacting us.  We suggest that you, as a wholesaler or reseller, should fit our client's market or sales strategy.  In any case, the decision to work with you rests with the client.

Do you use LEAD?

No. We adhere to all global jewelry standards and do not use Lead. This also applies to all of our approved suppliers.   In our alloys we do not use Cadmium, Lead, Nickel or any prohibited and harmful materials. We follow European rules and regulations (REACH).

Do you use CADMIUM?

No.  We adhere to all global jewelry standards and do not use cadmium.  Cadmium is dangerous to the end user and we ensure all our suppliers test their materials for cadmium.  In our alloys we do not use Cadmium, Lead, Nickel or any prohibited and harmful materials. We follow European rules and regulations (REACH).

Do you have any certifications or related safety documents?

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) documents on our production can be provided.  However, we may or may not be certified with the organization that you are working with.  We follow global jewelry standards and are a certified member of the London based ‘Responsible Jewellery Council.’  In addition, we only use reputable suppliers and get to know their operations as much as possible.  Please let us know which part of our production you require information on and we will do our best to accommodate you.
